One of the delightful aspects of living at 63°N is the annual seasonal change. Over the years I have been living in Finland, this change never stopped fascinating me.

Imagine length of day from 5 to 20 hours; landscape from green-blue to snow-white; temperature from -25°C to +25°C; tree covering from green leaves to ice crystals.

And back.

Never mind the darkness. Never mind the cold. Never mind the clouds. The change is fascinating. Unfortunately, it is also easy to forget.

In an attempt not to forget entirely, I have tried to capture a weekly image, over the course of a year, while standing at the same spot. The series starts at the beginning of September 2014 and ends in August 2015. Pictures were taken on most Sundays at 15:30. In blue and yellow, each image also shows the length of the day and night.
