There is a duet by Peter Gabriel and Kate Bush entitled “Don’t Give Up” which I’m likely to listen regularly in the next couple of weeks. In a moment in which I feel like I was forced to give up, I hope it will remind me to continue to believe, whatever the difficulties, whatever the failures, whatever the emotions, to never give up hope, to believe in openness, to believe in dialog, to believe in understanding.

I did give up a couple hours ago and I would like this to be a message for the future to myself (or whoever wants to be reminded too): README, the next time in your life you are in doubt whether or not to give up someone or something you care for or you believe into; don’t. However difficult, it is likely to reward you with joy. If, instead, you are meant to give up, you’ll learn it the hard way by being forced to give up, in which case, if nothing else, you know you have given your best.
